How Often Do Contracts Contain Penalty Clauses?
posted by Dave Hoffman
I’m starting a small research project into the prevalence of penalty clauses in contracts that will be signed by unrepresented parties — i.e., credit card agreements, tickets to events, consumer contracts, small sale service contracts, etc. I’ve looked for clearinghouses or collections of such contracts, but can’t find terribly many examples. Do any of you know of any?

In the past, 3 or 4 years ago, I’ve found various sample contracts — actual purchase and sale agreements, etc. — on Findlaw.
