Dave Hoffman is the Murray Shusterman Professor of Transactional and Business Law at Temple Law School. He specializes in law and psychology, contracts, and quantitative analysis of civil procedure. He currently teaches contracts, civil procedure, corporations, and law and economics.

    Dave,

    When I have looked for some of this data, I found that the ABA, Bureau of Labor Statistics, and I think NALP provided different pieces of the data you want.

    I’m afraid I don’t know of a central clearinghouse, but these sources may help.

    Deven is correct, especially with regard to the BLS. But… I now work for a small firm (four attys and an office manager), and I’d wager that many operate as we do. No website, little or no advertising, little data available on the Internet at all. To get an accurate picture of small firms, I think a telephone survey based on Yellow Pages listings would yield more accurate results than anything else.
