As Thomas Mann (Nobel 1929) pointed out, “A writer is someone for whom writing is more difficult than for everyone else” (“[E]in Schriftsteller ein Mann ist, dem das Schreiben schwerer fällt als allen anderen Leuten”). Schriftsteller often has a particularly literary connotation, so law profs perhaps tend to be exempt from this disability.
