    If Google officials can be criminally prosecuted any time a person uploads a defamatory or privacy invasive video to YouTube, it’s hard to see how they can possibly avoid running afoul of the law.

    By not operating from within Italy? Shouldn’t be too difficult with all this Internet stuff … Ah, but the money!

    Here is the English version of the relevant EU Directive. How, exactly, this is expressed in Italian law, I have no idea.
