		<description>Andrew, I love your analogy, and was irritated by the same tic, but the more likely explanation is some kind of verbosity-cum-pseudo-sophistication that network newsfolk are now trafficking in.  double the number of syllables and you must be saying something more profound!  of course, professors deserve to be mocked for the same thing (and in all seriousness they probably should be), but somehow the anchor who utters it has elevated himself.
