But the extraordinary efforts of Fox to smear him may lead him to follow-up on net neutrality pledges and other media regulation. The Fox fusillade was almost reassuring to me, given that it suggested that Obama did not pursue a Tony Blair-style rapprochement with Murdoch. In health care financing and regulation--this is a massive change. It's largely administrative law, and the president has great power over that (provided he's willing to use it). We're switching from an administration that bent over backward to deny health insurance to *kids* to one that wants to insure everyone. The biggest follies of CDHC will go into abeyance for at least 4 years, too. All in all, a fantastic result.
