I’m very pleased to announce that my colleague, Professor Sarah Lawsky, will be visiting with us for the next month. Sarah is an associate professor at George Washington University Law School, where she teaches and writes about tax law. Before joining the GW faculty in 2007, Sarah was a tax lawyer in Hogan & Hartson’s New York office. She earned her B.A. from the University of Chicago in philosophy with an allied field of math, her J.D. from Yale Law School, where she was an executive editor of the Yale Law Journal, and her LL.M. in tax from New York University Law School.
Her recent articles include:
* Money for Nothing: Charitable Deductions for Microfinance Lenders, 61 SMU L. Rev. (forthcoming 2008)
* Fairly Random: On Compensating Audited Taxpayers, 41 Conn. L. Rev. (forthcoming 2008)
Sarah is currently finishing an article on how probability statements about tax law should be interpreted.
