UPDATE: California Supreme Court Rules on Gay Marriage
There will undoubtedly be many posts across the blogs about this but as a heads up the California Supreme Court "has overturned a voter-approved ban on gay marriage, paving the way for the state to become the second in the United States where gay and lesbian residents can marry."
The California Supreme Court has a page with many useful links. Here is the link to the pdf of the decision (apparently more than 170 pages).
One prediction (no magic here): watch for candidates being asked what they think not about the decision and the state law issues but the idea of gay mariage in general.

Bravo for the Calififornia Supreme Court - - an overwhelmingly Republican Court that nonetheless has the courage to read their state's Constitution as written. When the Constitution promises "equal protection of the laws," the Court holds, "equal" really does mean "equal."
