		<description>I skimmed this -- it&#039;s very hard to take him seriously.  The thing that struck me most was his suggestion that religious conservatives believe the world is just and this makes them happy, whereas liberal humanists believe it is unjust and this makes them feel guilty and anxious.  It&#039;s hard to know what to say in response to such an odd claim, but perhaps he might talk to a few Roman Catholics.

This kind of thing might draw readers, but the NYT could do better.
