Nate, that is awesome!
Ah, were all attack ads this literate! I expected some innuendo about his relationship with the English merchant Green, who would often nap with Kant in the sitting room, the purported excuse that he “was too poor to marry,” that he was beholden to carrot and wine industry interests, and that Lampe was in fact an undocumented domestic on whom Kant paid no social security or withholding. Not to mention the over-punctuality of the 5:00 p.m. walks in Koenigsberg (suggesting he was not fully forthcoming about his possible obsessive-compulsive disorder).
Perhaps Nietzsche was concerned about his own peccadillos coming to light in the campaign.
Brian Leiter must be behind this somehow.
