Law School Faculty Lateral Moves, 2007 Edition

posted by Dan Filler

Updated February 25 and moved to the top. As usual, I've noted new entries in the list. Please email lateral hiring news to danielmfiller@gmail.com. For updates on entry level hiring, please post a comment to Larry Solum's list here.

I have organized this list by destination institution. The professors' names and former school are listed beneath. I have not included subject areas, but instead have tried to link to the prof's webpage. My data is obviously radically incomplete. Please email me at danielmfiller@gmail.com with further information. For those of you interested in entry-level hiring, click yourself right over to Larry Solum's invaluable list here. Thanks as always to all who contribute information. Thanks also to Brian Leiter, Paul Secunda, and others who were the first to break much of this news.

UPDATE: Whew. It's a dog-eat-dog world out there. As many of you know, I posted a version of this list last year here. A few weeks back I solicited information about this year's lateral moves. As many of you have figured out, however, I have been well behind the blogging curve (among many other curves, to be frank) during this year of law-school-creation. Spurred on by Larry Solum's list, I finally integrated my various sets of data and posted a lateral list this evening...all without realizing that Dan Markel had beaten me to it! What is a poor blogger to do? At this point, he has collected more information than I have - though I'd like to think that, with links, my list is a bit more user friendly. Do I continue this crusade, or turn it over to Dan? I suppose I'll decide tomorrow, once the sun has come up!

Might I confess an oops, Dan? I remembered your post from last year, but did not see your Jan 9 post this year for some reason, and so when Larry sent out his email about the entry level hiring, I decided to summarize the moves from Leiter's list in addition to those that I knew about. Sorry for the confusion. As always, Co-Op's got the prettier look to it!
