One of my research interests concerns the relationship between persuasion and fraud, and, in particular, how the digital revolution changes the economic analysis of lying. This ad campaign, which I found through YouTube, is an interesting data point.

That’s a brilliant ad. There’s a critique of the Dove campaign here:

but I think it’s a win-win proposition: good for the company, good for the society, good for consumers.

I don’t think I get it. In my view, she looks the hottest of all at the 13 second mark, where she flashes a smile, before they’ve done any of the make-up or morphed the image.
