Concurring Opinions Reader Poll
posted by Daniel Solove
I thought I’d play a little with our new poll-taking toy, and I thought I’d do so by finding out a bit more about our readers.
UPDATE: I forgot to add categories for Journalist and Lawyer (Public Interest). If you’re a journalist, please select Other. If you’re a public interest lawyer, please select Lawyer (Government).

I can’t believe you don’t have an “Engineer” category. Its so much better than a “Technologist”

You also forgot to include “Law Librarian.”

You have no category for “not still a law student but not yet a lawyer.” What are we, chopped liver?
(I mean, that’s how we often feel, but did you really need to rub it in demographically?)

Is “Mathematics” in “Computer Science & Technology”?

What, no category for Retired Supreme Court Justice?

I was going to argue that ‘business person’ — yes, that seems to be me — is too broad, but there are so far only 3% of respondents in the category. How about an ex-academic category? I didn’t make tenure and was forced to do the same work for more money in the for-profit sector. I even get to ‘teach’ recent college graduates. No publishing anymore, but that was always a drag anyway.

How is “Wannabe Law Professor” a separate category? Presumably a whole lot of the Lawyers (Private Sector) and Law Students could also pick that category; I know I could.
