No, that’s not a typo in the title. . . . This is a post about weird statues, not statutes (although there are plenty of weird statutes too). I don’t have much to say about the law today, but I found this website with pictures of unusual statues from around the world to be irresistible.

I worked for a summer at the Roybal Federal Building in LA, and could never wrap my head around the frieze in the courtyard, called “The New World,” sculpted by Tom Otterness:

I think it’s supposed to be post-modern and post-colonial, but I don’t really get the elephant trampling down the naked man.
Plus, they all look like the bastard children of Keith Haring and Ziggy.
