		<description>PS:

There is also one possible factor which you neglected. You consider the role of race as a proxy for partisan affiliation, but not the role of race in its own right. In how many of these cases is a white judge overriding the decision of a mixed-race jury with regard to a black defendant?

<description>I can honestly say that I have never been so genuinely horrified and sickened at how our own country handles the burden of making decisions of life and death (and yes, this is one state, which I for one don&#039;t live in, and I don&#039;t know how an ethicist would calculate the distribution of guilt across a federalist system, but as long as we all live under the same Constitution and system of government, there is no way any of us can escape some responsibility for what goes on in our midst).
