The best way to fight spam blogs is to keep them from being returned as a search result in Google. Your blog, as all MT and Blogger blogs, has the "nofollow" operative that keeps blogs' page ranks from being increased by pinging and leaving comments with hotlinks. Still, spam is prevalent. (Don't they know about "nofollow," or do they hope that even if the PR doesn't improve, people will click?) Anyhow, to fight the good fight, report splogs to Google here.

Worst is when they grab your RSS feed and either reproduce your headlines, post excerpts, or full posts. At least a few places mirror some or all of my posts as "Google bait." It pisses me off, and Google might punish me. (Google punishes people with mirrored sites by lowering their page ranks.) I'm not sure how to fix the problem.

I read a while ago that Google has hired (paid?) people who look at blogs and manually adjust PRs. Maybe that's what needs to be done, here, though I'm not sure whom I'd trust to adjust the page ranks of legal blogs. Lots of cronyism (and cliques) in the blogosphere.
